Li-Po battery charging modification by FunnyPlaying

 Upgrade your GBC from AA batteries to include USB charging! This mod from FunnyPlaying has a simple installation. There are 7 solder points to be attached and one fuse to be removed; see image below.

Charging module comes separated from the battery for safety. Please connect as part of the install.

This mod is perfect for upgrading your GBC alongside an IPS screen upgrade.

What is included;

  • 1 x charging board
  • 1 x Lithium Ion Battery (perfectly sized to fit in the GBC laminated shells)
  • 1 x USB charge lead
  • 2 x wires

Whats not included;

  • IPS ready shell. These can be purchased here.
  • Upgraded Cap kits to improve the performance of your donor motherboard.

Notes;

1. Charging cord should only be used with the mod installed and not on an original GBC system.

2. The system should be off while charging.

3. Batteries are dangerous! Do not cut or puncture! Do not lever out with metal screwdriver or similar.

Awesome bit of kit I can enjoy playing my Gbc once the battery starts running low I can just plug the charger in and charge it up.
Packaging was perfect.

Check your Power Regulator

I appreciate this kit and it ease of use and look forward to using it but something I missed when getting this mod is that not all power regulators are supported and I wasn't aware that the motherboard I have isn't compatible with this unfortunately. I am on the hunt and look forward to using this as I have one for a GBA and that works fantastically!

I have heard that the clean power regulators don't work with this either sadly.

Great Value for money. Good battery life, fits into original shells with very little modification for those worried about keeping originality. Just wish i could charge and play at the same time. Apart from that Love it!
