No shell modifications required for the RIPS screen. Simply drop and play!

These high quality shells / cases from RetroSix bring a new level of luxury to your favourite retro handheld. These shells will set your handheld apart from an original Nintendo Game Boy DMG 01.

They are available in 2 styles, Pearl and Standard. The pearl colours are made from the same high quality ABS plastic as the standard shells and they have a luxurious soft rubber coating applied.

These shells have "For" Nintendo Game Boy on the front unless listed below.

Red = No Branding

Orange = No Branding

Pure White = No Branding

CleanJuice XL USB-C ready.

Upgrade your DMG to hold a CleanJuice rechargeable USB-C battery. All these shells come with the space to fit a RetroSix CleanJuice or CleanJuice XL in. Select this option for your shell so that the battery cover includes a USB-C size hole for the charging cable to fit through. This allows you to charge your DMG without removing the battery cover.

What is not included;

  • Rubber contact pads - use the ones from the original console or if required purchase new ones using the link.
  • RIPS Glass lens - use the original plastic lens or select an original size glass one from the link (for the RIPS screens)

Notes;

1. The battery compartment of all the shells are able to take either AA batteries or the CleanJuice / CleanJuice XL by simply removing or adding 3 battery springs.

2. By selecting the CleanJuice ready option, a battery cover will be supplied with a USB-C hole moulded into the correct place.

3. The RIPS ready shells can also be used with a FunnyPlaying IPS screen with a couple of very small cuts being required to the inside of the shell and widening of the display window. See image below, do not cut off the items in red circles!
